Erin has spent over twenty years providing compassionate, patient-centered care in a variety of healthcare settings. She began her nursing career in 2001, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hawaii Pacific University in 2006. She then went on to work in the fields of Correctional Health, Medical/Surgical, and Trauma, as well as serving as an adjunct Nursing Faculty Member at the University of Phoenix, Colorado Christian University, and Arizona College of Nursing.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky, in 2013. She has been practicing in primary and palliative care in Colorado since 2014. She completed a fellowship in Pediatric Psychopharmacology from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2013, a certification in Sexual Health Promotion from Indiana University Bloomington in 2019, and a certificate in Plant-Based Medicine at Cornell University in 2021.
She holds board certifications in Family Practice, Correctional Health, and Palliative Care. She has been a Certified Bioidentical Hormone Therapy Practitioner since 2013. She is a member of the Holistic Nurses Association, the Direct Primary Care Coalition, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Jennie Bowhay-Sweet MSN, WHNP-BC
Women's Health Practitioner
Jennie’s career in nursing began over 40 years ago as a Licensed Practical Nurse, then earning an Associate of Science in Nursing from Pike’s Peak Community College. During this timeframe, she attended a certification program in family planning, obstetrics, and gynecology. She received her national certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 1983. In 2005, Jennie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix. When she returned to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs in 2008 to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing, she also completed the program for clinical nurse specialists in holistic nursing.
Jennie believes that holistic and integrative concepts result in providing healthcare that honors each person as more than the sum of their physical and emotional parts and as unique. She believes there is great healing value in authentic presence with another person.
Jennie has worked in several different specialty practice settings, including family planning, reproductive health, providing accepting and supportive care for sexual and LGBTQ+
communities, county health clinics, and large multispecialty medical groups in the obstetrics and gynecology departments, where she provided comprehensive women’s health care.
Jennie has worked in wildlife and domestic animal rescue for over 30 years and actively
volunteers with Rezdawg Rescue and English Springer Spaniel Rescue of America, and shares
her home with her own furry animal family. She enjoys ceramics, especially hand-building and
wheel-throwing pottery. -
Desiree Duckworth MSN,MBA/HCM, RN, NEA-BC

Desiree started her almost 20-year career as a nurse in 2003 as an LPN from Platt College in Oklahoma City. In 2007, I completed the ADN RN program while providing patient-centered care at an acute care facility in Oklahoma City. In 2011, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the University of Phoenix and continued to practice nursing in critical, post-general surgical, specialty surgical, medical, cardiovascular, and Neuro/Trauma settings. In 2016, she earned an MBA with a focus on Health Care Management and a Master of Nursing Leadership degree from the University of Phoenix. Desiree received her certification in Integrative Health and Wellness Coaching at Creighton University in 2021. She is currently enrolled in a Family and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree program at Frontier Nursing University. She has a passion for the ongoing mental and physical health of bariatric and post-bariatric surgery patients and for guiding all of her patients toward a healthy mind, body, and spirit balance.
Desiree holds certifications as an Integrative Health and Wellness Coach and a Nursing Executive, with expertise in program development, implementation, team development, and individual growth. She became a Certified Bioidentical Hormone Therapy Practitioner in 2021. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and the Association of Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists.

Meredith Young, MSN, FNP-BC

Meredith Young is a Family Nurse Practitioner who has been providing exceptional, trauma-informed care for nearly 20 years. Meredith completed her Family Nurse Practitioner, Master of Nursing Science program at Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky, in early 2025. As a Registered Nurse and Education Specialist, she focused on emergency medicine. She most recently served as the Emergency Medicine Primary Educator at Common Spirit – Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado, a position she has held since April 2018. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maine, Fort Kent, Maine. She has been recognized for her contributions to patient safety and also boasts experience as an OB Registered Nurse, ED Registered Nurse, and Staff Development Specialist at Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where she worked from June 2015 to February 2018. Additionally, she served as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician at Mayo Regional Hospital for twelve years, from February 2006 to February 2018.
Meredith holds several credentials in addition to being a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, including being a Certified EMS Educator, a Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner, and certifications in BLS/ACLS/PALS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, PEARS, and NRP. She has a proven track record of delivering high-quality care while maintaining patient safety and satisfaction, and has held numerous leadership roles throughout her healthcare career.
